What to do with this Yarn?!

Do you ever buy yarn then wonder what you are going to do with it? This happens to me often lol

Almost 2 years ago a friend was selling some yarn she purchased and didn't want. It's enough to make a decent size blanket so I bought it from her. It's been sitting in a tote in my closet ever since! Once in a while I take it out and look at it, trying to figure out what stitch pattern or patterns would work...... Now it's time to actually do something with it!

These are the 4 colors. I asked for preferences in the order I should crochet the blanket, seems that it was an even split between the end and 4th one. I'm leaning towards the 4th color option myself.

The yarn is Red Heart Comfort: 100% Acrylic, 454 g/16 oz, 792 meters/867 yards

Usually I like to start with at least 4000 yds for a larger blanket. The 4 skeins = 3468 yds, so maybe I will do a throw or lap blanket. There will be lots left from each color that will probably get made into scarves and hats to donate.

So now the questions are:

1) stripes or block colors?

2) lots of color changes or only every 6-10 rows?

3) easy stitch pattern, or lots of more complicated stitch patterns?

4) square blanket or rectangle?

Designing is hard! There are so many options. Sometimes the yarn tells me what it wants to be, sometimes I have to "fight" with it and hopefully win so it becomes what I want it to be lol. Wish me luck!

Thank you for reading the post :) Happy crocheting my friends!
