fpdc: YO, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated stitch, YO and pull up loop, [YO, draw through 2 loops on hook] 2 times.
bpdc: YO, insert hook from back to front to back around post of indicated stitch, YO and pull up loop, [YO, draw through 2 loops on hook] 2 times.

Ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a st.
INSTRUCTIONS
Because this yarn is a bit thinner and I will be donating the scarf I wanted it to have some texture and be a bit squishy.
Row 1: fsc 28 (or any multiple of 4)
Optional Row 1: ch 29 (or any multiple of 4 + 1), sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each ch across. (28 sts)
Row 2: altch2, dc in the next st and each st across. (28 sts)
Row 3: altch2, dc in the next st, * fpdc around each of the next 2 sts, bpdc around each of the next 2 sts * across until 2 sts remain, dc in the last 2 sts.
Row 4: altch2, dc in the next st, * fpdc around each of the next 2 sts, bpdc around each of the next 2 sts * across until 2 sts remain, dc in the last 2 sts.
Row 5: altch2, dc in the next st, * bpdc around each of the next 2 sts, fpdc around each of the next 2 sts * across until 2 sts remain, dc in the last 2 sts.
Row 6: altch2, dc in the next st, * bpdc around each of the next 2 sts, fpdc around each of the next 2 sts * across until 2 sts remain, dc in the last 2 sts.
Repeat Rows 3 - 6 until desired length.
Last Row: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
