Hello fellow Canadian! And another Amigurumi designer..... but not the same. :)
Oh my goodness, I had so much fun looking through Lizzie's stores, I was smiling the whole time. Such cute patterns! Not your usual choice maybe..... but why be usual when you can be fun and unique!
My favorite pattern? Wow, this was a tough choice, but I think I will go with the Jameson the Jackalope :)
Click on the photos below to go to the patterns. I would love to know which is your favorite :)
All of Lizzie's links are at the bottom, please follow her where you can and give some of her patterns some love by adding time to your favorites.

What is your name, business name & where do you live?
Lizzie Livett-Buchanan, MTP: Designs, I'm in Peterborough, ON, CA
When/How did you learn to crochet?
My mum taught me how to crochet and knit and crosstitch and read patterns when I was little, but I didn't enjoy anything but the crosstitch. About 10 years ago I lost my job, and decided to just take a bit of time off and figure out what I really wanted to do. I decided to learn to crochet again, my mum came and showed me some basics. I already had a firm understanding of how to read a written pattern, so from there, I just went crazy and had fun with it!
What made you decide to start designing patterns?
I wanted designs for cryptids and other weird things like I do, I was having a hard time finding them, so I decided to just start designing them myself
How would you say that your crochet designing has changed from when you started?
I used to design really large pieces, now I make things a lot smaller
What’s your go-to yarn and crochet hook? Any particular reason why you prefer them?
I like red heart super saver and loops and thread soft acrylic, I like the colour selection, and they're great for amigurumi - my go to brand of hooks is tulip etimo, specifically the red line, I love them, there's less friction, and the red helps with dark yarns and seeing your stitches better!
What are some of your favorite crochet techniques/stitches/ patterns?
I am a big fan of join as you go, the less sewing I have to do at the end the better! my favourite design, currently, is my Breckin the Baphomet!
Are you a one-project-at-a-time person, or do you have a lot of WIPs on the go?
I try to keep the amt of projects I have to 1, or 2, but I have been known to assembly line items for table stock and have 5+ on the go at one time!
What’s the process like when you design a crochet pattern? What are some words you would use to describe your patterns?
I'm not sure I have a process, I just get an idea, and I sit down and make it, I write it down as I go, then I put it on the computer, and make it usually 3-6 more times to make sure I have it right, before sending it out for testing words to describe them? weird, unusual, strange, alt, gothic, witchy?
Tell us about your favorite make or biggest crochet triumph?
I think my biggest crochet triumph maybe is when my Baku the Baphomet design had a bestseller badge for a month!
Paying it forward, who are some of your favorite crochet designers/ bloggers?
WOMANWALKINGAWIRE, Jennifer's Stitched Up, Prismatic Fiber and Artistry
Where can we find you online?
Thank you Lizzie for a wonderful interview and showing us your beautiful and fun patterns :)
