We all have bits of left over yarn (LOY) in a tote, bag or basket somewhere. You know.... those little balls of wound up yarn that are taking up space that could be use for new yarn! lol
Here is the first pattern in a series of scrap yarn projects you can crochet to help you use up some of that extra left over yarn.

MATERIALS
Bernat Super Value (100% Acrylic, 440 yards / 402 meters, 7 ounces / 197 grams) 3 colors that = 1 skein
Other Yarn Options: Any weight worsted yarn.

Hook US H8 / 5.00 mm

Puff St: (YO, insert hook in st indicated, YO, draw yarn through the st and up to level of work) 3 times in the same st, YO draw yarn through 7 loops on hook.

PATTERN NOTES
- Repeat instructions between the asterisks.
Turn at the end of each row.
Chain spaces do not count as stitches.
The chain one at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
INSTRUCTIONS
COLOR A
Row 1: fsc 29 (or any multiple of 5 + 4)
Row 2 (RS): altch2, dc in each st across.
Row 3 (WS): altch2, dc in the next st, (3 dc, ch 2, dc) in the next st, skip 4 sts across until 2 sts remain, dc in the last 2 sts.
Row 4 (RS): altch2, dc in the next st, skip 1 st, (3 dc, ch 2, dc) in the next ch sp, skip 4 sts, (3 dc, ch 2, dc) in the next ch sp * across until 5 sts remain, skip 3 sts, dc in the last 2 sts.
Rows 5 - 7: Repeat Row 4.
Row 8: altch2, dc in the next st, skip 1 st, 2 dc in the next ch sp, dc in the next 3 sts across, dc in the last 2 sts.
Row 9: ch 1, sc in each st across.
Row 10: altch2, dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st, PUFF in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st across until 2 sts remain, dc in the last 2 sts.
Row 11: ch 1, sc in each st and ch sp across.
Rows 12 - 31: Repeat Rows 2 - 11.
COLOR B
Rows 32 - 61: Repeat Rows 2 - 11.
COLOR C
Rows 62 - 91: Repeat Rows 2 - 11.
FINISHING
Fold piece in half with short ends together. Slst across.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
