Cowl Challenge 7

MATERIALS

  • Any bulky (#5) weight yarn: 3 oz

HOOKS & SUPPLIES

  • Hook US J10 / 6 mm

  • Scissors

  • Yarn Needle

  • Measuring Tape

  • Stitch Marker (Optional)

GAUGE

  • 14 dc stitches = 4”, first 10 rows = 4”

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

  • One Size: 26” x 9.25”

PATTERN KEY (US Terms)

  • altch2 = alternate chain 2

  • ch = chain

  • dc = double crochet

  • fsc = foundation single crochet

  • sc = single crochet

  • slst = slip stitch

  • sp(s) = space(s)

  • st(s) = stitch(es)

  • YO = yarn over

PATTERN NOTES

  • * * - Repeat instructions between the asterisks.

  • Working in the round, join with a slip stitch at the end of each round.

  • The altch2 is the first double crochet in the round.

  • The chain 1 & chain 2 at the beginning of the round do not count as stitches.

 

INSTRUCTIONS


Round 1: fsc 74 (or any multiple of 3 + 3), join as per video. (75 sts)

Optional Round 1: ch 75 (or any multiple of 3), join without twisting the chain, ch 1, sc in the first st and each st around. Join. (75 sts)


Round 2: altch2, dc in each st around. Join.


Round 3: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st around. Join.


Round 4: (atlch2, 2 dc) in the first st, skip 2 sts, * 3 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts * around. Join.


Round 5: ch2, * dc3tog, ch 2 * around. Join.


Round 6: ch 1, sc in the first st, 2 sc in the next ch sp, * sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next ch sp * around. (75 sts)


Round 7: altch2, dc in each st around. Join.


Round 8: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st around. Join.


Repeat Rounds 4 - 8 until desired width.


If you would like to change colors, change on Rounds 4 & 6.


Fasten off, weave in ends.
