While designing new patterns last year I got hooked on cables. Yes, they can be a bit difficult at first, but once you do them a few times it's easier. Cables also tend to use more yarn I think, so if you are going to make a large project (blanket) with cables, buy lots of yarn!
Unisex patterns are hard to design. This cowl could be for a guy in the right colors, and scarf in the right yarn could be for a female. The yarn you use will determine what sex the scarf is for. Either pattern can be crocheted in stripes, solid color or even self striping yarn.
The patterns can be purchased separately or in the Cables Accessories E-Book. The E-Book on Ravelry has the first 3 patterns, the fingerless gloves pattern & ear warmer pattern will be published next month & added to the E-book then.
