Scarf Challenge 2

If you use this FREE pattern, the challenge is to create at least 1 scarf that you donate to the charity of your choice.

MATERIALS

  • Lion Brand Touch of Alpaca (90% Acrylic 10% Alpaca, 207 yards / 190 meters, 3.5 ounces / 100 grams)

  • OPTIONAL YARN: Any light #4 weight yarn.


HOOKS & SUPPLIES

  • Hook US I9 / 5.5 mm

  • Scissors

  • Yarn Needle

  • Measuring Tape

  • Stitch Marker (Optional)

GAUGE

  • N/A


SIZES

  • One Size: 56” x 6.75”


PATTERN KEY (US Terms)

  • altch2 = alternate chain 2

  • ch = chain

  • dc = double crochet

  • fsc = foundation single crochet

  • sc = single crochet

  • st = stitch

  • sts = stitches


SPECIAL STITCHES & TECHNIQUES

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

  • Easy


NOTES

  • * * - Repeat instructions between the asterisks as many times as instructed.

  • Turn at the end of each row.

  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a st.


INSTRUCTIONS (Infinity Scarf)


Row 1: fsc 27, or any multiple of 6 + 3. (27 sts)

Optional Row 1: ch 28 (or any multiple of 6 + 4), sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each ch across. (27 sts.


Row 2: altch2, 3 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, * 5 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, dc in the next st, skip 2 sts * across until 2 sts remain, 3 dc in the next st, dc in the last st.


Row 3: altch2, dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, * dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, 5 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts * across until 2 sts remain, dc in the last 2 sts.


Repeat Rows 2 & 3 until desired length.


FINISHING

Fold scarf in half with short ends together. Slst ends together, or fasten off leaving a long end for weaving.


Fasten off and weave ends.


NOTE: You can do this scarf in 1 color or as many colors as you like changing colors on any row. I wanted the colors to be even so they are both 28” long.


SCARF

If you want to make a scarf, continue the repeat of Rows 2 & 3 until desired length, then repeat Row 2 one more time, sc in each st across to finish.
