1. Introduce yourself & your business.
Hi, I’m Justis! My business, Bittersweet Grace Designs, is my newest baby and the place where I can share my newest creations. While right now I’m focusing on crochet and quilted items, I’ve got a long crafty history that includes previous businesses of shabby chic furniture, home decor, and tumblers! I’ve been married for 13 years to my husband and together we have three kids. This last summer we sold our home, moved into an rv, and started homeschooling. A lot of those changes are what inspired me to start BGD and to create things slowly and with intention!
2. What are 3 adjectives that best define your business?
Heirloom, colorful, and thoughtful (I try to create items that will last and be loved for a long time. I’ve also got a long standing love of colors, all of them together at the same time to be exact. I also try to really match the creation to the receiver with careful thought in supplies and execution.)
3. Which project are you most proud of?
Two projects that I’ve been super proud of recently - one is a pioneer woman inspired quilt for a Christmas gift for a loved one. It’s the largest I’ve done to date. Second is my first amigurumi large animal I made for my daughter’s fifth birthday. Both were large scale and I love how they turned out!
4. What inspires you when you create?
I’ve always been drawn to use my hands to create, and I feel most connected to my creator when I’m using my hands to take raw materials and turn them into something new. I also love listening to Enya radio on Pandora or putting on Gilmore Girls!
