A friend of mine was selling this yarn. She wasn't sure why she bought it, where, or even what it is! The label does not have a company or name, just the weight and yardage.
After doing a bunch of research we think it's Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cake (100% Acrylic, 409 meters, 227 grams). This color can't be found anywhere, but the striping is the same, the yardage is the same.... so it must be that yarn?
She had 5 skeins, so I bought the yarn with a blanket in mind. Every year I give her all the blankets I make to donate. Usually about 5 of them go to Veterans for Christmas, some to a children's hospital, a seniors home, or any place where she thinks someone would love a blanket.
It's not a bad yarn. I would consider it a bit thin for a worsted weight, but it's making a nice blanket. Would be nice if the color stripes were either a bit longer or shorter so the colors "mingled" a bit more lol. But it's working out. A couple of the skeins had a few knots in them, of course the colors weren't correct. Thankfully I'm donating the blanket so it's not too crucial that the colors continue in a pattern. If I wanted to sell the blanket, it would be quite annoying!
Would I buy the yarn again? Probably not. Don't like the way the colors work out or the fact that there were knots.
There are quite a few colors to choose from if you are looking for this yarn. Apparently it's at Michaels. You can also find it at The Woolwarehouse in the UK. I have ordered from them often.
I'm quite fond of the "Bay" color, "Sour Lime" & Jellybeans. Do you have a favorite? Have you used this yarn? If you have I would love to see what you created! You can message me on FB, or send a photo in an email :)
The blanket pattern will be a free pattern in late 2025 I think. Still need to finish the blanket, then get the pattern tested.
Have you thought of becoming a pattern testers? Always looking for people willing to try one of my patterns and find all of my mistakes :)
