Do you crochet baby items? They are some of my favorite projects. Mostly blankets, but once in a while I have the urge to crochet cocoons.

I purchased some Caron Baby Cakes last year when it was on a super sale. These were the only 2 colors I like from the choices. Didn't have a plan for what I would do with the yarn, but knew if I looked at it long enough.... it would tell me what it wanted to be lol.
Caron Baby Cakes (100% Acrylic, 231 yards / 211 meters, 3.5 ounces / 100 grams) Cocoon 1 (Frosted Pansies) 2 skeins, Cocoon 2 (Dreamy Violet) 3 skeins
When I purchased the yarn I had 6 skeins of each color. I'm sure the original plan was blankets, but the yarn was thinner than I thought it would be. Worsted weight? I don't think so. It's more of an aran or dk weight yarn.
Even though it was thinner than I would have liked.... it's still nice yarn. Easy to use, no splitting, easy to unravel, & if I remember correctly there were no knots in the skeins I had. The yarn does create very pretty and soft baby items. You could use it for pretty much any project.

Because I'm all about texture, the cocoons have fun stitches. Each is worked in the round with different "tops". The green one is probably the easiest one to crochet and will be the faster project. The purple one has simple cables. (I seem to be crocheting a lot of cables).

You could change the top band on either cocoon easily. If you like the folded brim and the purple cocoon, when you get to the top just switch band patterns (if you need help email me).
You can find the pattern set on RAVELRY for 40% off from March 4 - March 6 Only. After the 6th the set will be $7 (plus 25% off in 2025).
I also created 2 security blanket patterns with this same yarn. They are also on Ravelry. Click on the photo for the pattern listing.
