Meat Pies

A friend purchased a case of Tater Tots and couldn't remember why lol.

So being the good friend that I am, I purchased on of the bags of Tater Tots from the case. Hubby likes Tater Tots more than french fries, so I will use up the 5 lb bag eventually.


As my friend and I were chatting about what to do with them, I was talking about meat pies and I had some beef I needed to make into stew. So - being the thrifty and smart women we are.... meat pies with Tater Tots on the top! Way less work than making pie crusts or mashed potatoes.


Pinterest is one of my favorite sites to look for recipes. I use it often. Spaceships and Laser Beams has also become one of my favorite recipe blogs.


I used this recipe for the BEEF STEW and once it was ready put it in the individual pie plates and topped with the Tater Tots. Baked the pies at 425F for about 30 minutes, until the tots were brown and cooked.


When they were finished I wrapped them up and froze them. They will be awesome for those days I don't feel like cooking. Just heat up in the oven.
